ABOUT US

APPRENTICESHIP CONNECTIONSWHAT IS A REGISTERED APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM(RAP)

Apprenticeship Connections & Consulting Corp is an apprenticeship intermediary firm dedicated to promoting apprenticeship programs and raising awareness about the growing demand for a skilled workforce. As an apprenticeship intermediary, we have the capacity, expertise, and network to help businesses enhance their Workforce Development processes—including recruiting, onboarding, and training—by successfully creating, launching, and expanding customized training programs.

Our role is to advocate for organizations by streamlining the application submission process, making onboarding as stress-free as possible, and ensuring the long-term success of the program. We work with both employers and individuals to create long-lasting, meaningful connections that benefit all parties involved. Our mission is to:

  • Help Employers Register: Guide businesses through the process of becoming approved apprenticeship sponsors.
  • Help Individuals Enroll: Assist aspiring professionals in finding and enrolling in apprenticeship programs.
  • Foster Connections: Build strong, enduring relationships between employers and apprentices.

Founder and President, Michael Todisco, brings intimate knowledge and firsthand experience with Department of Labor (DOL) Registered Apprenticeship Programs. Over the past decade, Michael has:

  • Assisted numerous commercial construction companies in becoming apprenticeship sponsors.
  • Overseen the development and maintenance of various apprenticeship programs.
  • Created the first manufacturing group sponsorship registered apprenticeship program on Long Island (NY).
  • Drafted new trades such as Fitness Instructor and Bench Jeweler Production.

Michael's extensive experience with apprenticeship policies and procedures, along with his strong local relationships with the DOL and educational institutions, ensures that programs remain compliant and successful. His goals are to:

  • Educate and guide individuals through alternative career paths that do not require a college degree.
  • Support employers in starting and sustaining apprenticeship programs.
  • Connect apprentices with sponsors to create mutually beneficial partnerships.

At Apprenticeship Connections & Consulting Corp, we are committed to empowering both businesses and individuals by providing the support, resources, and expertise needed to thrive in today's dynamic workforce.

WHAT IS AN APPRENTICESHIP PROGRAM?

Apprenticeship is a program in which workers train on-the-job – earning full-time wages and doing productive work – while also taking educational courses. When someone completes an apprenticeship, they’ll have valuable work experience and a recognized industry credential that allows them to continue in the field and advance their career over time.

Apprenticeships generally last from one to four years, as the apprentice advances through the program, his or her wages increase according to a predetermined schedule agreed to between the employer and the apprentice.

The apprenticeship can be hosted by an employer, also known as the "Sponsor".    The sponsor may provide all elements of the program themselves (on-the-job training and related technical instruction), or they may partner with career schools, community colleges or other education providers to deliver a comprehensive, apprentice-focused experience.

Apprenticeship Connections is your bridge to the world of apprenticeship.  Our goals are simple: we guide individuals who want a career in the trades, we support employers by helping them launch an apprenticeship program, and we are the glue that connects the apprentices and their sponsors. The demand for skilled workers is growing, but the supply of skilled workers isn’t meeting that demand.  · Did you know that 70% of construction and manufacturing firms say they can’t find qualified workers?· Did you know that the need for skilled workers is increasing faster than employment growth overall?· Did you know that skilled labor in the U.S. isn’t expected to catch up to demand until 2050?
